What does the NCL Stiftung do?
The priority of the foundation is the national and international promotion of research against childhood dementia, i.e., NCL.
This is an attempt to give children affected by NCL the prospect of therapies and cures that have been lacking until now.
In addition, the focus is on raising awareness among physicians and the public
On the one hand, this should significantly shorten the diagnosis time. On the other hand, more people need to know that dementia can affect children.
Unfortunately, very few people know this.
You can read more about this on the NCL Foundation website at
But do you know what NCL is?
NCL, also known as childhood dementia, is a fatal metabolic disease that is still poorly understood. Affected children usually go blind by elementary school age, suffer from epilepsy, and gradually lose other cognitive and motor skills.
Because NCL cannot be slowed or stopped, children usually die before the age of 30.
Not only that, but because of its rarity, the disease receives too little attention from the pharmaceutical industry and the general public.
